The Tomcats Tame the Domme
In Catamount, Texas, serpent-shifter Rosa Santos is an unusual woman. She's unattached in a community where pride membership is key, and she's a Domme. When Robb Jackson, the alpha's lead Tomcat, begins to pursue her, she's determined to keep the control she's worked so hard to achieve.
Robb is a panther-shifter, a Dom at the local bondage club, and he's falling in love with the one person he should avoid at all costs—Rosa. Fellow Tomcats Steve Harris and Marcus Gallagher are also panther-shifters who, to relieve stress, submit to Rosa's domination. They've fallen in love with their Domme and know their boss has too.
When Rosa is kidnapped to harvest her unusual blood for chemical weapons, her men are forced to track her to New Orleans, where they find some unlikely allies and learn the problems in Catamount may have just begun.

Chapter 1
Robb Jackson’s attention was divided between the elementary school band preparing to play their version of “Yankee Doodle Dandy” and the Catamount Dance Company setting up onstage to tap-dance as the band played. More to the point, Robb’s attention was divided between his ten-year-old son and the sexy dance instructor, Rosa Santos. He loved Bobby more than life itself, but Rosa could snag his attention faster than anything else on earth. Now that he’d had a chance to spend a bit of time in the company of the dark-haired Latin beauty, he’d found he couldn’t keep her off his mind.
He watched her movements with the intensity of a man watching a deadly snake, which, in fact, she was. Rosa belonged to the serpent-shifter clan, and she moved with a sensuous grace that affected Robb so much he got hard just thinking about the woman. Bad idea, of course, since they were both dominants. Rosa was all Domme, the most perfect specimen of both femininity and control he’d ever encountered. Her prowess in her playroom was legendary in Catamount. Quite a few of the special security contingent assigned to Cattail Ranch had visited her. During a single session, Rosa was able to ease the tension from even the most stressed-out Tomcat, and there’d been a lot of stress around Catamount lately. Robb thought it funny how he handled his stress by searching for more control, yet many of his brothers-in-arms found it by relinquishing it. And, boy, was Rosa willing to take it off their hands.
He tugged his gaze back to Bobby for a moment just to check on the band’s progress. They seemed to have a few more minutes as most of the band members were still clambering up onstage. After a quick glance, he found his eyes drawn back to Rosa. He couldn’t see either of them giving up control long enough to have sex without an ensuing war for control, but what he wouldn’t give to have her submit to him. If the idea alone brought his cock to half-mast, what kind of reaction would her actual touch elicit?
He sighed and turned his full attention back to Bobby. His son had the same dark, seductive look as all serpentine shifters. No surprise there since his mother had also been a snake-shifter. Like Rosa, Katharine was a black mamba, the most deadly of them all. Robb had spent a few of the most tempestuous years of his life with Bobby’s mother. Tempestuous, yes, and even though they’d had quite a few nasty altercations, he still smiled at the memory. He couldn’t say the days had all been bad, but living with a serpent took a lot out of a man. So why did Rosa Santos mesmerize him so? He knew with certainty that, even though he’d get a glimpse of heaven, she was surely a one-way ticket to hell. He’d been to hell with Bobby’s mother. Not something he cared to repeat.
Rosa was lining her students up for their grand entrance on the stage. Suzie Lucas, the alpha’s daughter, waved at him, and he waved back. Since she was the youngest dancer, she was first in line to take the stage. He had to admit the little blonde dressed in her dark blue cowgirl outfit, red boots, and stars-and-stripes cowboy hat looked adorable. He’d have to thank her for drawing Rosa’s attention to him because his dark-haired dream girl turned to see who had snagged Suzie’s attention.
Rosa’s straight black hair glinted with blue highlights under the Texas sun and swept over her shoulder as she moved, coming to rest on her blue halter top, right near the swell of a creamy breast. Her pretty bowed lips, glistenin
g with a ruby gloss, tilted up in a gentle smile as she met his gaze. His cock twitched and throbbed like a bitch before settling down with resignation. Even his cock knew it wasn’t in the cards. So why couldn’t he convince his heart of that? He knew they’d be explosive together. His gaze drifted once again to the creamy skin of her cleavage.
Get it outta your head, Jackson. It’s not going to happen.
“Hey, Dad!”
Bobby raised one of his drumsticks and grinned. His son had decorated the sticks in red, white, and blue tape for his Fourth of July concert. Pulling his sunglasses down for a better look, Robb nodded his approval and gave Bobby a thumbs-up. The kid beamed from ear to ear.
Even though he wasn’t on duty, Robb checked the crowd out of habit. He figured the whole Catamount colony and more than a few tourists had crowded into Lucas Park for the day’s festivities. Later, there would be a huge ox roast and picnic, but until then, the alpha had supplied music, games, and a small traveling carnival with kiddie rides, all guaranteed to give the citizens of Catamount a wonderful holiday. Nothing seemed out of place, and he allowed himself to relax. Being head of the security detail for Cattail Ranch was a demanding job, but Robb loved his work. He respected the Lucas brothers and thought he couldn’t ask for a better alpha than Tyler Lucas. Tyler planned to go back to Homeland full-time, relinquishing most of his day-to-day duties to his brother, Shane. Well, that would work out too. Shane was a good man and beta, and with everything that had happened around Catamount lately, having a man like Tyler back in charge of things at a higher level could only be an advantage for them all.
Robb moved to the shade of a nearby tree, crossed his arms, and waited for the band to begin. At the moment, they were tuning up, and it was all he could do not to scrunch his face up at the horrible screeches and wheezes coming from the instruments. Bobby was thumping away on the drums—that sound was far too familiar—and Robb decided whatever they were paying the band director probably wasn’t enough. Maybe he’d make a donation to the school’s music department to give the guy a bonus. Besides, the teacher was pulling double duty by working through the summer.
In contrast to the band’s haphazard formation and skills, Rosa’s dance troupe stood like seasoned professionals waiting to take their place on the stage. Robb tensed when he saw a disabled man in a wheelchair had moved up fairly close to the children.
Even though the man was seated, Robb could see he was a huge guy, probably at least six and a half feet. That wasn’t so unusual in Catamount with all the cat- and wolf-shifters, but it was unusual in an outsider, and this guy was definitely not a Catamount resident. With an ugly, beaky mug like that, he was very memorable. Definitely not a looker. But that wasn’t what disturbed Robb. The fact that Robb didn’t recognize him made him a stranger, and any stranger near Tyler’s pride or extended pride was suspect. Though the man had bumped into Rosa, Suzie was only feet away, and that didn’t sit well with Robb. Not by a damn sight.
When Rosa jerked suddenly and swung around, Robb started forward to make sure there wasn’t a problem. He stopped short when Rosa leaned down to speak with the man in the wheelchair. He eased back when he saw her shake the man’s hand, giving him a brilliant smile. It seemed from his gesture he was apologizing for something, and Rosa was shaking her head, obviously telling him not to worry. The man handed Rosa a white cloth, and she dabbed at a spot on her leg where the wheelchair had bumped her. Robb frowned, wondering what that was about. Maybe he’d gotten dirt or grass stains on her from the wheel. When the guy turned to leave, Robb saw he had patches that proclaimed him a veteran of the Iraqi war. Maybe Rosa even knew the guy. He knew that was a long shot, but he filed the face and details in his memory bank so he could check him out later.
He leaned back against the tree again and tried to convince himself to stop seeing threats in every stranger. The past few months at Cattail Ranch had been a little tense since Rosa’s brother, an international assassin, had tried to kill the Lucas family and kidnap Rosa for whatever scheme had been in his sick mind. The ranch security force, headed by Cougar Lucas and known as Tomcats, included Robb—Tomcat 6—and several dozen others. They’d been on their toes for months now, and it seemed impossible to let the vigilance drop even for a day.
As if she could read his mind, Rosa turned to him with a wink and a saucy sway of her hips as she moved to the front of her dance troupe. The movement of her shapely ass and thighs under the short, clinging red-white-and-blue sarong made Robb’s mouth go dry and his heartbeat accelerate. He couldn’t see any panty lines under the soft material. She was either going commando or wearing a really tiny thong. The thought of either one made him hot.
When Rosa turned her back to him, bent down to speak to Suzie, and shook her ass in his direction, he forgot about threats. He found himself focused on sex instead. He’d love to teach the dominatrix how to play by his rules, to submit to the pleasure he knew he could give her if she would only give up her control. Glancing across the park to the row of businesses in the downtown shopping area, Robb looked longingly at the back of Cougar Lucas’s bondage club, and he made his Fourth of July wish. He wished he could have an hour with Rosa by himself. Okay, so there was no such thing as a Fourth of July wish, but a man could dream.
He heard the first wobbly strains of “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” and after that, all his thoughts evaporated, killed mercilessly by a bombardment of ungodly noise.
But, damn, Bobby looked like he was a having a good time. That was all that really mattered.

Rosa watched her small dance troupe with a critical eye. She had picked the best of her students for the first performance of the day. The less talented dancers would get their chance onstage later, but for now, she concentrated on keeping her class focused and calm. So far, they were making her proud.
She couldn’t ignore Tomcat 6 watching her with hungry eyes from under the shade of a Texas live oak. Rosa put a bit of extra sway in her hips just for him as she marched back and forth like a general around her dancers, passing out encouragement, support, and instructions.
Today marked the first public appearance of her dance troupe, and she wanted it to be perfect. The school had been open only a few months, and already Rosa was thinking of hiring extra dance instructors to help with the volume of students. Everyone in town seemed to want their children to take a class. Between tap, ballet, and ballroom, her daily dance card for the summer was full in both the children and adult classes. When word got out that Carly Lucas was taking a pole-dancing class, half the women in Catamount had signed up. She’d had to add three classes to her schedule. She supposed she had Lisa Fauve to thank for that little boon to her business. Lisa was very good at “getting the word out.” Rosa was nothing but grateful for Lisa’s help. However, watching Dorothy Stanford swing around a pole with the abandon of a stripper was a bit disconcerting. Being a warthog-shifter, the mayor’s wife lacked the natural grace most of the other women had, but Dorothy made up for her clumsy movements with fervent enthusiasm. Even so, Rosa still shuddered when she pictured it.
Beside her, the band started playing, and Rosa gave Suzie the cue to move. The little girl started up the steps with supreme confidence. Rosa wasn’t playing favorites by letting the alpha’s daughter lead the troupe. Suzie was a natural at dance, inheriting that talent from her mother. Rosa could see a professional career in Suzie’s future if she wanted to pursue it.
As she had been trained to do, Suzie moved to the front of the stage, leading the first row, while the second and third rows of dancers filed in behind her. They were moving in unison, giving it their best, and Rosa felt a swell of pride. She had given up her own professional career to help Tyler Lucas raise Suzie when his wife, Jillian, had been murdered. Watching her students’ success today filled the hole that had been left behind in Rosa’s heart. Every day when she arose, she thanked Tyler for giving her the studio as a gift. The alpha’s pride was now in Carly’s warm and loving hands, and they no
longer needed Rosa to help hold the family together. This studio provided Rosa with a reason to stay in Catamount in the company of those she loved best and also to continue her love of dance. Tyler Lucas had given her the gift of a second chance.
She found the alpha’s tall, handsome figure in the crowd, standing between his wife and their housekeeper, Lucia, who was more like a grandmother to the pride. Tyler gave her a slight smile and nodded in acknowledgement. They no longer needed words between them. Everything Tyler felt for her showed in his eyes—his affection, his gratitude, and his hope for her future. Beside him stood his pride mate, looking beautiful in a blue sundress and white cowboy hat. Carly gave her a brilliant smile, her hand waving madly. Ty slipped an arm around his wife, and they both turned their attention to their daughter.
As the children tapped out an enthusiastic rhythm to make James Cagney proud, Rosa couldn’t resist glancing behind her to see how Robb Jackson was enjoying the program. One glance told her Tomcat 6 wasn’t focused on the dancers at all. As she caught his eye, he raised his sunglasses to his forehead, peering at her steadily. His intense sapphire eyes seemed to be devouring her, and Rosa felt a shiver despite the Texas heat.
Something about Robb Jackson made Rosa lose a bit of her hard-earned control. She could play other men like a snake with a mouse, but not Tomcat 6. He was her equal. She sensed an iron control in him that wouldn’t waver no matter how much discipline she dished out. Just the thought of flogging him brought a blush of dampness to Rosa’s tiny thong, and she reminded herself the panther would be able to smell her arousal.
